Fionavar Hanover fashions front-end win in Meadows Pace

by Evan Pattak, for the Meadows

Meadow Lands, PA — Fionavar Hanover powered to the lead from the gate and never looked back, easily winning the $20,000 Filly & Mare Preferred Handicap Pace on Friday (May 23) at The Meadows.

Although Fionavar Hanover hadn’t raced in three weeks, Dave Palone gave little thought to ducking the daughter of The Panderosa. A second quarter breather of :30 allowed her to score under wraps in 1:53, 3-1/4 lengths better than Au Dragon. Streetcarnamedsire endured a demanding journey from post position nine to be third.

Mickey Burke trains Fionavar Hanover, who has career earnings just short of $275,000 for the partnership of Sylvia Burke, Frank Baldachino and Howard Taylor.
