First leg of Buckeye Stallion Series for 2-year-old filly trotters Wednesday at Northfield

Grove City, OH — The Buckeye Stallion Series returns to MGM Northfield Park Wednesday night (July 7) for the first leg of the 2-year-old filly trot. Five divisions will be contested, each with a purse of $17,500.

The entry box saw 38 fillies entered to race, splitting into two seven horse fields and three eight horses fields.

Trainers Chris Beaver and Jason McGinnis lead the way with four entries each, while Wes Hershberger and Anette Lorentzon will send two postward. A total of 29 trainers have entered fillies.

Sixteen Ohio stallions will be represented with nine sired by What The Hill, five each from Long Tom and Uncle Peter, with Creatine and Triumphant Caviar each siring three.

First race post time for the 15-race program is set for 6 p.m. at MGM Northfield Park with series events scheduled in races one, two, three, six and eight.
