Fit Fanatic holds on, wins Meadows series final

Washington, PA — Pressured throughout the mile, Fit Fanatic found the wire just in time to capture Thursday’s (April 28) $21,000 final of the Margaret Provost Memorial Trot, for 3-year-old fillies, at Hollywood Casino at The Meadows.

Fit Fanatic, flanked by a pair of late challengers, remained steadfast to win the Margaret Provost Memorial final. Chris Gooden photo.

Fit Fanatic needed the entire first quarter to make the lead and was immediately dogged by the parked-out Intellect Hill. Even when that rival tired, Fit Fanatic had to deal with a pair of late challengers: Gingerzzz outside, Shayna Rosa in the Lightning Lane. Although she slowed to a :30.3 final panel, Fit Fanatic held on for Brady Brown, prevailing in 1:59. Gingerzzz was second by a head, with Shayna Rosa third.
