Columbus, OH — A field of five 2-year-old colt pacers will take to the track in the $53,372 Fox Stakes, part of the Grand Circuit card slated for Thursday (August 18) at Indiana Downs.
The Grand Circuit racing card, which was scheduled for August 19 at the Indiana State Fair, was moved to Thursday at Indiana Downs due to the tragedy over the past weekend at the Fairgrounds.
Fridaynightflight enters the Fox Stakes as the richest horse in the field with earnings of $27,596. Owned by trainer Roger Welch, along with William C. and William P. DeLong, the son of Panspacificflight-Ramblin Rosie has one win, one second and one third in four trips behind the gate. He enters the Fox Stake off a 1:55.4 win in a $40,000 Indiana Sires Stakes race on August 3 at Indiana Downs.
Trainer Chip Noble will pilot Feelin Cornered from the rail in Thursday’s Fox Stake. Owned by Stephen Sexton, the son of Feelin Friskie-Cornerstand has a pair of wins in five career starts, with earnings of $18,967 on the Ohio circuit.
