Foiled Again painting brings SRF much needed help

from the Standardbred Retirement Foundation

Millstone Twp., NJ — A framed original oil painting of the harness racing wonder, the richest pacer in history, Foiled Again, brought the Standardbred Retirement Foundation much needed help when it was purchased for $4,500 by Mickey Burke Sr. at SRF’s recent annual charity golf outing.

The Florida artist, Debbie Pounders, was commissioned by Chrissy (Haislip) Daniels as a gift to SRF to render a portrait from a photograph captured by United States Trotting Association photographer Mark Hall.

The sale of the colorful oil will help SRF provide for the 207 Standardbreds in their care, and assist in the lifetime follow-up of every adopted horse. There are also 25 limited prints of the oil available, many signed by driver Yannick Gingras.

SRF’s charity golf outing just completed its 23rd year. Once again it had a full house and with a live and sealed auction, brought another year of funding that surpassed the year before.

“We are so grateful for the support we receive, and especially the generous purchase of this painting,” said Paula Campbell. “We could not manage this record number of horses without all these great people.”

Foiled Again prints can be purchased from SRF’s store through its website at www.AdoptaHorse.org. The artist, Debbie Pounders, has several other beautiful pieces that can be viewed at www.debbiepfineart.com.
