Foiled Again takes over top spot in Poll

by Ken Weingartner, Harness Racing Communications

Freehold, NJ — Older pacer Foiled Again reclaimed the No. 1 spot in the Hambletonian Society/Breeders Crown poll, which saw eight horses receive first-place votes after a busy weekend of stakes action. Foiled Again was idle last week, but moved into the top position from second place.

American Jewel, who won the Fan Hanover for 3-year-old filly pacers in a world-record 1:48.2, entered the Top 10 at No. 2 while North America Cup winner Thinking Out Loud vaulted in at No. 5.

Sweet Lou, who was No. 1 last week, dropped to third after his fourth-place finish in the North America Cup.

Also joining the Top 10 was 3-year-old colt trotter Googoo Gaagaa, who won his elimination for the Beal Memorial in a world-record 1:51.3.
