Dayton, OH — The Foiled Again Farewell Tour will make one final stop in Ohio when the richest Standardbred of all time returns to Hollywood Gaming at Dayton Raceway to race on Saturday night (Nov. 10). A winner of 104 races and more than $7.6 million, Foiled Again has made 21 starts in the Buckeye State during his illustrious career, including a pair of appearances in the Dayton Pacing Derby.

“We’re thrilled that the Foiled Again management team has agreed to showcase their popular champion at Dayton Raceway during the final two months of his racing career,” said Vice President of Racing Mark Loewe. “Racing fans throughout North America have come to love Foiled Again due to his uncanny ability to race at the highest level for such a prolonged period of time. The sport certainly needs superstars who stay on the track long enough to gain a following. The Foiled Again Farewell Tour is a perfect example of what a great racehorse can do to promote harness racing to the masses.”

Foiled Again returns to Hollywood Gaming at Dayton Raceway to race on Saturday night (Nov. 10).

Foiled Again was born on May 8, 2004 in Englishtown, N.J. and trained by Hermann Heitmann for the first two years of his career. Purchased by trainer Ron Burke in June of 2008, with eight wins and just over $100,000 on his card, the gelded son of Dragon Again has been a flag-bearer for the powerful Burke Brigade for a decade, winning another 96 races and earning an additional $7.5 million.

A two-time champion of the George Morton Levy Memorial Series for free-for-all pacers, Foiled Again won an incredible 20 preliminary legs of the Levy throughout the years. He also captured a Breeders Crown, a Graduate Series championship, won both the Battle of Lake Erie and the Bobby Quillen Memorial three times each, twice triumphed in the Hoosier Pacing Derby, as well as winning many other prestigious races including the TVG, Ben Franklin, American-National and Molson Pace.

Foiled Again finished second, beaten a scant nose in 1:49 by Clear Vision, in the inaugural Dayton Pacing Derby in 2014. A year later, he was fifth in the second edition of the Derby when State Treasurer lowered the track record to 1:48.4. That speed record lasted three years until it was lowered to 1:47.4 by Donttellmeagain winning the fifth annual Dayton Pacing Derby earlier this season.

“We have been so blessed to have Foiled Again for the past ten years,” said Mark Weaver, part-owner. “Ohio has been a huge part of Foiled Again’s career. He made eight straight annual starts in the Battle of Lake Erie at Northfield, and participated in a couple Jim Ewart Memorials at Scioto Downs and Dayton Pacing Derbies at Hollywood Gaming. We are glad to have the opportunity to visit Ohio one last time with Foiled Again at Hollywood Dayton Raceway on Nov. 10.”
