Foiled Again will lead deep Molson Pace field

from Western Fair District Media

London, ON — The field for this year’s C$150,000 Molson Pace at The Raceway at Western Fair District is shaping up as one of the strongest ever.

Two-time winner Foiled Again will lead the way as the 10-year-old gets ready for his sixth appearance in London. He is the richest pacer in history with more than $6.2 million earned and is coming off a dazzling qualifying win over Captaintreacherous.

Defending champion State Treasurer will be back as well and has been in stellar form early on this season including back-to-back sub-1:50 wins at Woodbine against Preferred company.

Also expected are this year’s Levy champion, P H Supercam, who upended Foiled Again in that race, and Dancin Yankee, who is coming off a 1:47.2 world record performance last weekend at Pocono. Fellow speedballers Apprentice Hanover, Captive Audience, Bettor’s Edge and Bandolito have also received invites and are expected to make an appearance.

The post position draw for this year’s Molson Pace will be held live this Monday afternoon on The Raceway pre-game show which airs at 5:40 p.m. (EDT).

The Molson Pace program goes next Friday (May 30) with a first post of 7:05 p.m. That night fans will receive a commemorative Foiled Again postcard with program purchase (while supplies last) and one lucky patron will get a chance to sit behind the world champion in a double-seated jog cart early in the night.

There will also be a Molson ‘Party on the Patio’ and prize draws for VIP packages to the Pepsi North America Cup and Beer and Barbecue Show. On the wagering side, the early Pick-4 pool will be guaranteed at C$7,500 with the late guaranteed at C$10,000. There will also be a C$10,000 guaranteed pool Super Hi-5.
