Nichols, NY — North America Cup elimination winner and multiple New York Sire Stakes victor Fool Me Once leads a field of 18 3-year-old colt pacers on Sunday afternoon (July 28) in NYSS action at Tioga Downs.

Campaigned from the Mark Austin Stable, the son of Art Major–Fool That I Am has enjoyed a wonderful first half of his sophomore campaign. Fool Me Once has recorded six victories in eight beautifully mapped out starts to keep the 10-time career winner fresh heading into the second half of the season. Fool Me Once took his seasonal mark of 1:48.1 when he captured an elimination of the North America Cup at Mohawk in June.

Scott Zeron will make the trip to Nichols, N.Y., to drive Fool Me Once, who will start from post four in the first of two $67,243 NYSS divisions.

In the second $67,243 division, Source Of Pride has been installed as the 5-2 morning line favorite for the Jimmy Takter stable. The son of American Ideal–Trim Hanover won a division of the NYSS at Yonkers two starts back in 1:50.4. Jim Morrill, Jr. has been listed to drive Source Of Pride, who will leave from post position two in Sunday afternoon’s ninth race.

Tioga Downs will also hold five divisions of NYSS Excelsior races on Sunday for 3-year-old colt pacers.

Post time for the 12-race card is slated for 1:30 p.m.
