London, ON — The premier Standardbred yearling sale in Canada, the Forest City Yearling Sale, takes place on Sunday (Oct. 23) at the Western Fair’s Metroland Media Agriplex in London, Ontario.

The Forest City Yearling Sale features 138 colts and fillies, primarily Ontario-sired and eligible for the lucrative Ontario Sires Stakes program.

The sale will be the culmination of a weekend of exciting events to support and welcome new fans and owners to our business:

On Friday (Oct. 21) The Raceway at Western Fair District will feature the Forest City Preview — four divisional races open to 3­-year­-old trotters and pacers who raced in the Ontario Sires Stakes Grassroots Series in 2016 but did not race in the Grassroots Finals.

That race card also has the “Racing Under Saddle” Finale.

Saturday (Oct. 22) is Yearling Inspection Day starting at 10 a.m.

On Sunday (Oct. 23) the Forest City Yearling Sale starts at Noon. Forest City Yearling Sale and Western Fair District have put together an innovative Info Zone for fans and owners. A number of organizations will be available to give information on fractional ownership, horse registration and licensing, pedigree interpretation, Ontario’s new owner’s bonus and life after racing for our equine athletes.

In addition, there will be draws conducted at the conclusion of the sale for a full set of harness from Wilson’s Tack as well as horse transportation through Rick Bodi Horse Transport and Doyle Bloodstock Transportation.
