Franco Traveller N scores first US win

EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ – February 1, 2005 – Franco Traveller N [$4.80, $2.40, $2.20] was first over on the outside tier and took the lead in the final sixteenth of a mile to score a length and a half victory in the fifth race, a $12,000 condition pace, on Tuesday night at the Meadowlands.

It was the first United States victory for the four-year-old chestnut gelding from New Zealand who paced the mile in 1:54.2.

Franco Traveller, driven by John Campbell and trained by Peter Walsh, was acquired by Stelios Nicoles of Clifton, New Jersey, and Peter Pylarinos of Morganville, New Jersey, in December of 2004.

Bootstrap Bill [$2.80, $2.80] cut most of the mile and held on for second. It was four lengths to Listen Hanover [$3.40] in third.
