Frederick Hundertpfund, 78, dies

Columbus, OH — Frederick Hundertpfund, 78, of Whiting, N.J., uncle to Gaitway Farm manager Tim Hundertpfund and trainer Joe Hundertpfund, Jr., died after a long illness on Sept. 18, 2013.

He was born in Ocean Township, formerly residing in Freehold before moving to Whiting nine years ago.

Mr. Hundertpfund served honorably in the United States Army, then became a police officer for Ocean Township. He then had a full career in the automotive industry, most recently working for Freehold Auto Body.

He was a longtime USTA member and Standardbred owner and breeder who loved spending time at Gaitway Farm and following the family’s horses race.

Mr. Hundertpfund had an avid love for golf, the New York Giants and the New York Mets.

Visitation will be on Friday (Sept. 20) from 5-9 p.m. at the Family Owned Carmona-Bolen Home for Funerals, 66 Lacey Rd, Whiting, N.J. Funeral services will be on Friday at 8 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Harness Horse Youth Foundation, 16575 Carey Rd., Westfield, IN 46074.
