Free Flyin Ticket takes Meadows feature in Lightning Lane

Washington, PA — Shuffled to fourth after grabbing the early lead, Free Flyin Ticket found the Lightning Lane with enough time and enough pop to capture Tuesday’s (Dec. 14) feature at Hollywood Casino at The Meadows, a $12,100 fillies and mares conditioned pace.

Free Flyin Ticket rallied up the pegs to win Tuesday’s featured distaff pace at The Meadows. Chris Gooden photo.

Free Flyin Ticket still had a length to make up at the top of the lane, but she responded willingly to the urging of Ronnie Wrenn Jr. to score in 1:52.1, a neck better than the first-over Lady Newton. Zoe Ellasen rallied for show.

Ron Burke trains the winner, a 4-year-old daughter of Betterthancheddar and Free Ticket who extended her career earnings to $150,530, for Burke Racing Stable and Weaver Bruscemi LLC.

Trainer Mark Goldberg joined Wrenn and Burke as those who recorded doubles on the 11-race card.

Live racing at The Meadows continues Wednesday (Dec. 15), when the 12-race program features a pair of carryovers: $12,051.22 in the final-race Super Hi-5 and $1,008.96 in the Pick-5 (races 4-8). First post is 12:45 p.m.
