Marjorie Callahan, daughter of 2017 Homestyle ICS Chili Champ Joseph Callahan, took home 2nd place and $500 cash prize for her homestyle chili verde.

The $250 third place prize went to Bob Quinones, who also finished in a tie for People’s Choice Chili with Laura Stoessel from West Milford, N.J.

Stoessel was voted the People’s Choice Chili Champion for the 3rd year in a row.

In addition to the chili competition, a separate side contest for homemade salsa with a $500 prize was also held. David Rosario from Paterson, N.J. took the top spot.

A record crowd was on hand to sample and vote for their favorite chili throughout the evening.

“We are extremely pleased with the record turnout for our chili event,” said Meadowlands General Manager and COO Jason M. Settlemoir. “We sampled some delicious salsa and chili and are looking forward to our 2019 competition!”
