Manalapan, NJ — Nearly $600,000 in Standardbred Breeders & Owners Association of New Jersey-sponsored stakes are among the featured events on the $3.9 million Freehold Raceway stakes schedule for 2010.

The $85,000 Helen Smith Trot for 3-year-old filly trotters on August 20, the $100,000 Charles Smith Trot for 3-year-old colts on September 10, the $70,000 Harold Dancer Filly Trot on September 15 and the $80,000 Harold Dancer Colt Trot on September 16 are among the stakes under the aegis of the SBOANJ along with a quartet of New Jersey Futurities on October 1, 2 and 7.

Freehold’s schedule also includes the $300,000 Cane Pace, a leg of the Triple Crown for 3-year-old pacers, and its filly companion event, the $100,000 Shady Daisy, both on Labor Day, September 6.

3-year-old trotters are featured in the $160,000 Dexter Cup on May 8 and the $100,000 Lady Suffolk on May 7.

New Jersey Sire Stakes – both Premier and Green Acres — and the NJSS-sponsored Babic Finals on September 4 fill out the balance of the stakes program.
