French trotters highlight Monday sale

Briarcliff Manor, NY — Seven French trotters, all with proven racing performance and significant earnings, sell among the eight lots being offered in Preferred Equine Online’s July 25 Mixed Sale.

Bidding on horses in the sale opens today (Friday). The online auction starts Monday at 3 p.m., with bids closing in sequential order at that time.

The sale roster and catalog is now available at preferredequineonline.com, or by clicking here.

The listing of horses includes links to photographs, training videos, walking videos, and veterinarian reports. There is also a direct link to each horse’s past performances and race videos courtesy of French racing’s governing body, LeTrot. Also included is detailed information regarding racing with or without shoes.

The horses came to the online platform as the result of a recent trip to France by Preferred Equine’s David Reid, along with delegates of the U.S. Trotting Association, where they met with leaders of LeTrot. It was agreed upon there to introduce a limited number of quality French racehorses to the North American buying public via an online sale.

“The LeTrot team worked hard to recruit the horses and provide the necessary details to be able to offer these proven racehorses,” Reid said. “I think owners and trainers in North America will find this a unique opportunity to add a highly competitive trotter to their stables.”

There is a single, set fee for buyers to have their purchases shipped to the U.S. For more information see each horse’s owner’s statement.
