Freshman fillies to invade Tioga Downs Sunday

Nichols, NY — Three divisions of New York Sire Stakes (NYSS) for 2-year-old pacing fillies come to Tioga Downs on Sunday (July 15).

In the first division, which carries a purse of $35,866, Crazy Cute is the morning line favorite at 2-1. Jim Morrill Jr. will drive the daughter of Art Major and Crazy Luv Bug for trainer Mark Harder and owner Joseph Jannuzzelli. She has two second-place finishes in her two lifetime starts, including a runner-up finish in a NYSS event at Yonkers Raceway on July 6. The second morning line choice at 5-2 is Prescient Beauty (Art Major-Precious Beauty). Owned by James Avritt Sr., driven by Doug McNair and trained by Gregg McNair, she won impressively at Woodbine Mohawk Park on July 2 in her lone start to date.

The second division, which goes for $36,566, is headed by 5-2 morning line favorite JK American Beauty (American Ideal-JK Black Beauty). Driven by Yannick Gingras for the 3 Brothers Stables and trainer Nancy Johansson, her best finish to date was a second-place finish in a NYSS event at Yonkers. The second choice at 3-1 is Meghan Lynn (American Ideal-Ladyotra). Daniel Dube takes over the driving duties for owner Crawford Farms Racing and trainer Chris Oakes. She won a NYSS event at Buffalo Raceway on June 20 before finishing at Yonkers on July 6.

The $36,566 third division features Ron Burke trainee St Somewhere (American Ideal-Somstreetsomwhere), who was installed as the 2-1 morning line favorite. In her second lifetime start, she won a NYSS race at Yonkers. annick Gingras drives for owners Burke Racing Stable, Phil Collura, J&T Silva-Purnell Libby and Weaver Bruscemi. So Awesome (So Surreal-Teddy Ballgirl) is the second choice in the third division at 5-2. Tim Tetrick drives for trainer Scott Di Domenico and owner William Hartt. She also won a Sire Stakes event at Yonkers on July 6.
