Monticello, NY — Four $12,200 divisions of 2-year-old trotting fillies in New York Sire Stakes late closers will be featured on Tuesday afternoon (Oct. 4) at Monticello Raceway. They will go as races one, four, five and eight on the 15-race card that day.

With a glance at the official program one can see that not all the good freshman fillies had a chance to compete in the rich NYSS final at Saratoga Raceway last Saturday.

In the first contest, Steuben Lone Pine comes off a 1:59.3 triumph in late closer action at Yonkers Raceway in her last start. The daughter of Sand Vic-Pine For, owned and to be driven by Dave Fisher, has bankrolled almost $46,000 this season. She’ll leave from the four hole.

In the second split, race four, Lady Lois, a 2:00.2 winner at Yonkers in late closer action on Sept. 27, has drawn the rail and will be the odds-on favorite. Owned by Ann-Mari Daley, Richard Lomabardo, Robert Pergament and Howard Taylor, the Conway Hall-Shan Riches filly will start from the pole position with trainer Dan Daley aboard.

In the third division the undefeated (14-for-14) Enough Cash will try to continue her winning ways. The stalwart on the NYSS County Fair circuit is the daughter of Cash Hall-Fashionable Filly and was unbeatable over the county fair tracks. She even continued her winning ways when she won the NYSS County Fair Final at Batavia Downs in 2:03.4 on Sept. 5 and then came right back on Sept. 17 to win a NYSS late closer at Batavia by five lengths in 2:02.3.

Owned by Doug and Tyra Joanne Ackley, Enough Cash, who has already bankrolled over $25,000, will leave from the pole position in race five.

In the final late closer split, race eight, Cowgirl Hall, the winner of the Historic Cup at Vernon Downs on Sept. 2 in 1:57, has amassed over $43,000 for owners Ted Gewertz, Michael Rosenthal, Jean Brunet and Deborah Brunet. Fresh off a five length, 2:01.4 victory in a NYSS late closer at Yonkers Raceway on Sept. 27, the Cash Hall-Centerfold Hall filly has the rail position and will be driven by her trainer, Gates Brunet.

Post time for the first race on Tuesday will be at the usual 12:50 p.m.
