Freshman March Forth to qualify at Harrah’s Philadelphia

Chester, PA — At some time just short of 10 a.m. on Tuesday (May 31) at Harrah’s Philadelphia, the first 2-year-old at an eastern Pennsylvania track this year will make his initial appearance — the trotting colt March Forth.

March Forth is a son of Father Patrick out of the SJ’s Caviar mare NF Happenstance, who took her mark of 1:52.2 at Harrah’s in 2014 while trained and driven by Jack Parker Jr. and owned by James Moore III. The mare was sold midsummer of that year, then was repurchased by Moore at the end of 2016.

Two years later, she had by far her best season, going 36-13-11-2, earning $361,065, winning at five different tracks, and taking her Breeders Crown elimination before finishing fourth in the final. Carol Jamieson-Parker, the trainer of March Forth, had taken over training duties for NF Happenstance’s best and final year at the track.

James Moore III is the owner of March Forth (who was born March 23, if you were wondering), and Jack Parker Jr. has the drive.

March Forth will begin his career from the rail in the third of eight qualifiers, which begin at 9:30 a.m.

Replays of the qualifiers will be available at the PHHA website, www.phha.org, shortly after the completion of the morning session.
