Freshman pacers in Tompkins-Geers spotlight at Tioga

Nichols, NY — Grand Circuit action continued at Tioga Downs on Friday night (July 20) with Tompkins-Geers action for 2-year-old pacers.

In the lone $71,266 division of the 2-year-old colt pace, Don’t Ya Know was a 1:54 winner for driver David Miller and trainer Joe Holloway. Owned by Bluestone Farms LLC, Kitty Hawk Stable and Val D’Or Farms, the son of Western Ideal-Caviart Vegas came from off the pace to win by a nose over Johny Rock. Duel In the Sun finished third.

Also on the card were a pair of divisions for the 2-year-old filly pacers.

In the $36,433 opening division, the David Miller-Joe Holloway partnership produced another winner with Shebestingin. The Bettor’s Delight-Armbro Tussle lass romped to a 6-1/4 length victory over Give Me An Amen in a time of 1:53.4. Urdabest was third. The winner is owned by Val D’Or Farms, Theodore Gewertz and L&L Devisser LLC.

The $36,933 second division was captured by Ken Jacobs’ Aria J in a wire-to-wire clocking of 1:56.2. The Art Major-Misty Flirts freshman was driven to victory by Pat Berry for trainer Linda Toscano. Certified Ideal finished second while Offintothesunset picked up the show dough.
