Scarborough, ME — Scarborough Downs, Bangor Historic Track and Maine’s OTB locations are kicking off the latest promotion for harness racing this Friday (June 29), the Ultimate Friday Handicapping Challenge. The contest allows players to correctly select 4 races from Scarborough Downs and 4 races from Bangor Raceway each Friday night for 3 weeks, with a weekly prize of a $100 voucher, and to compete in the finale for the Grand Prize of a $500 voucher.

“This season, Scarborough and Bangor both race on Friday nights with an overlap,” said, Wendy Ireland, a member of the Maine Harness Racing Promotion Board, which sponsors the contest. “Harness fans enjoy watching [the racing at] both tracks so this was a great way to keep them engaged in Maine racing while testing their skill for great prizes.”

Each of the six participating Maine locations will offer a weekly prize of a $100 betting voucher for the most correct selections from races 5, 6, 7, 8 at Scarborough (first post at 4 pm) and races 5, 6, 7, 8 at Bangor (first post at 6 pm). Each of the weekly winners will be invited back for the Final Friday Face Off on Friday, July 20, for the grand prize of a $500 voucher.

The contest is free to enter and runs three consecutive Fridays: Friday, June 29, July 6, July 13 with the finale on July 20.
