Silver Match and owner Chris Glover were the winners of Jack Benny English Equitation class. Silver Match raced 287 times over ten years and earned $161,238. Glover adopted the gelding from New Vocations.

The event that featured 27 Standardbred classes and 40 Open classes was a resounding success. The classes were quite full with 11 geldings and eight mares in Standardbred halter and 22 in Standardbred Horsemanship/Equitation which was shown in three divisions.

The Open classes routinely had 15-18, many of which were Standardbreds, as well.

The show offered a variety of opportunities with Speed and Fun Classes on Friday evening and a full slate of Halter, Showmanship, Horsemanship, Equitation, Pleasure, Trail, and Driving on Saturday.

Many of the classes were divided into Youth, Adult, and Elite to ease the crowding and spread the awards.

The SPHO of Ohio is dedicated to enjoying and promoting the Standardbred along with its versatility and qualities. Ohio SPHO’s next event is Memorial Day weekend at the Kentucky Horse Park where eleven horses will be participating in Standardbred breed demonstrations at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
