Fundraiser for Michigan horsewoman battling cancer

by Ann Sigsby

Bay City, MI — On Sunday (March 8) a benefit event will be held in Bay City, Mich., for one of our own who is battling cancer.

Jeanne Duso Boudot, a life-long harness racing participant and Standardbred breeder, was recently diagnosed with stage-four pancreatic cancer. Jeanne is known by many for her love of horses, kids and bulldogs. She is a native of Bay City and currently lives in Freeland.

The event from 12 noon to 6 p.m. on March 8 will include a spaghetti dinner, silent auction, live auction and bake sale to raise funds needed in the wake of the diagnosis. The location is the Bangor Township Hall, 180 State Park Dr., Bay City, MI 48706. The dinner, silent auction and bake sale will begin at 12 noon and the live auction with auctioneer Mike Furlo will start at 4:30 p.m. Admission prices are $8 for adults and $4 for children 10 and under.

The live auction will feature a variety of artwork from local artists; signed books by local and equine authors; horse supplies, equipment and memorabilia; as well as products and gift cards from local businesses. The silent auction will include numerous gift baskets and other donated items. Donations are still being sought for both auction events.

Prior to the fundraiser date, information on the activities and featured auction items can be found on the Facebook page titled “Spaghetti dinner benefit for Jeanne Duso Boudot.”
