Gene Bock, 89, dies

Columbus, OH — Gene Bock, 89, of Washington Court House, Ohio, died July 8, 2011, in the Chillicothe Veterans’ Hospital in Ross County.

He was born December 26, 1921, to the late Guy and Anabel Allen Bock in Jeffersonville, Ohio. He was a lifetime farmer, horse trainer and driver employed by the Blooded Horse Sales Company.

Mr. Bock was a life member of O.E. Hardway Post #3762 VFW, a member of the Paul H. Hughey Post #25 of the American Legion and a Life Member of Elks’ Lodge #129 of Washington Court House. Mr. Bock served in the Army during World War II in the European and Asian theaters.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Maddux Bock; and a niece. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Cary.

A graveside service will be held Wednesday, July 13, at 10:30 a.m at the Milledgeville-Plymouth Cemetery with Rev. Don Bock officiating. There will be no calling hours.
