Toronto, ON — In her first appearance since winning the Miss Vera Bars Series, Gerries Madison was a winner in Monday night’s (March 10) lone C$17,000 division in the opening leg of the Silver Reign Pacing Series at Woodbine Racetrack.

Despite starting slowly and getting away seventh for driver Rick Zeron in the big field of 11, the daughter of Apaches Fame brushed to the lead in the middle half and enjoyed a huge advantage by the time the field reached three-quarters in 1:26.2.

Gerries Madison was able to easily maintain her advantage in the stretch and wound up winning by 1-1/2 lengths in 1:55.2. The first quarter leader, Serious Camotion, came back on to finish in second with Tended Rose landing the show spot.

The victory was the third in five tries this season for the Clark Beelby trainee who increased her career bankroll to $92,901 for owner Gerrie Tucker of Montreal, Quebec.

The second leg of the Silver Reign Series will be contested next Monday (March 17) at Woodbine.
