Gingras wins 7, Exit 16W series continues at Meadowlands

from the Meadowlands Media Relations Department

East Rutherford, NJ — Yannick Gingras is in the zone. He found his way to the winners circled seven times on the 13 race Saturday program, four of which found him teamed up with trainer Ron Burke. In fact, over the last six nights of racing, Gingras has won 18 races. This streak is similar to one that we saw from Gingras last year when he opened up a massive lead in the driver standings. It appears he is on his way to doing that again.

The Exit 16W series continued tonight and saw one enormous upset and another thrilling finish. In the first division, Hang Ten (1:51) lit up the tote board at 32-1 for John Campbell, paving the way for a carryover of the early Pick 4. That carryover led to a total pool of the late Pick 4 of over $167,000. Hang Ten is trained by Ed Lohmeyer, Jr and owned by Robert & Laurin Tucker of NJ.

The second division saw a wild finish with four noses on the wire. In the end it was favored Holdingallthecards (1:52) who once again scored a narrow victory, running his record to 6 for 6 on the year. Scott Di Domenico trains for owner William Mcintyre of Wisconsin.

It was yet another great night for the Meadowlands handle. The total handle of $3,565,691 was the third time the total handle has gone past the $3.5 Million mark this year. In 2012, the only race card that accomplished that feat was Hambletonian Day.

Racing returns on Thursday night with first post time of 7:15 P.M. For more information, log onto meadowlandsracetrack.com
