Hazel Park, MI — The Great Lakes Amateur Driving Association is proud to announce a scholarship opportunity for students in Michigan who have a direct or extended family relationship with someone in the Michigan horse industry.

This scholarship honors and remembers Dennis Walton, the late Assistant Race Secretary at Hazel Park, who was pivotal in organizing and conducting the weekly summer series for amateur drivers. The application can be downloaded from the MHHA website. The deadline for receiving applications is April 30, 2012.

Steve Oldford, GLADA president, says, “GLADA drivers had a great time racing the past two summers at Hazel Park. Along with Denny, Race Secretary Ladd Biro was helpful in starting and racing the two successful summer meets. We are so pleased to be able to honor Denny in this way as he was very interested in young people and worked hard both professionally and personally for their betterment.”
