Gloria Duso, 90, dies

Columbus, OH — Former USTA member Gloria Elizabeth Duso, 90, died March 17, 2013.

Mrs. Duso was born Jan. 17, 1923, in Bay City, Mich., the daughter of Joseph and Bertha Annalena (Wagner) Auer. She attended schools in Bay City and graduated from Bay City Central High School in 1940.

She married the late Francis Albert Duso on Feb. 23, 1946, and became a homemaker after working at Bay City Chevrolet during World War II, making parts for the war effort.

She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, baseball (Detroit Tigers and Little League), harness racing and bingo.

She is survived by her daughters, Diane (Michael) Patterson and Jeanne Boudot; son, Steven Francis; special granddaughter, Kerri Ann (Brian) Slachta and their children, Kollin and Dylan; grandsons, Craig (fiancee Courtney Giles) Boudot, Steven Boudot, Kevin Boudot, Michael, Nicholas Whiteherse (Kym), Jason Whiteherse (Rachelle), Adam Whiteherse (Katy) and Eric Whiteherse (Stephanie); granddaughter, Angela Boudot; 10 great grandchildren; best friend, Beatrice “Pete” Auer; and special friends, Leonard Boudot, Kylie Giles and Peyton Wallaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis Albert; infant daughter, Jeanine; son, Dennis P. and his wife Renie; parents; four brothers; and three sisters-in-law.

Visitation with family will be Friday (March 22) at Penzien-Steele Funeral Home from 9-11 a.m. at which time a memorial service will be held. The Rev. Mark Luetzow will officiate.

Memorial contributions may be made to Bethel Ev. Lutheran Church “Feed My Lambs” or a children’s charity of choice to honor Mrs. Duso’s love for children.
