Goldberg wins SRF raffle

from the Standardbred Retirement Foundation

Hamilton, NJ — Marc Goldberg, once a groom for Jimmy Cruise and Vinnie Aurigemma and now a successful businessman and owner of the great trotter Arch Madness, is the winner of the Standardbred Retirement Foundation’s Prix d’Amerique raffle.

Supporters of the SRF, Marc and his wife Marcia are happily looking forward to the trip.

Having been involved in racing since he was a teenager, Marc left college to groom at Roosevelt Raceway. Several years later he built a successful business outside of the oval and returned to racing in 2001 when he bred and raised Arch Madness.

“I love the horses, they’re in my blood,” he explained on the phone when he heard the good news about winning.

The trip included an airfare voucher of up to $2,000 for the Goldbergs who will enjoy five days and four nights in Paris with tours of Standardbred farms and training centers, a cocktail party at Vincennes and the Prix d’Amerique.

The raffle was a fundraiser that will help SRF take some horses off our long waitlist, help the many already waiting for a home, and assist in the youth programs in 2010.

SRF congratulates the Goldbergs and thanks all those who so generously supported this important fundraiser.
