Golden Gun fastest of DSBF splits Monday at Harrington

Harrington, DE — The Wiz Kids Stable’s Golden Gun ($12.20, Montrell Teague) was the fastest of three $20,000 divisional winners Monday in the 2nd leg of the Delaware Standardbred Breeders Fund (DSBF) stakes for 3-year-old pacing colts and geldings with a 1:54.2 triumph.

Golden Gun (#2 inside) scored in 1:54.2 on Monday at Harrington Raceway, the fastest of three divisions of DSBF stakes for 3-year-old pacing colts & geldings.

Trained by Bart Dalious, the Headmaster sired gelding set all the fractions and held off a furious charge from favorite By A Time for a narrow victory.

Rodney Long and Tim and Joe Hundertpfund’s Hot Roddy ($2.10, George Dennis) completed a sweep of his eliminations with a 1:55.2 triumph over Ilikethetrashy. The Roddy’s Bags Again gelding led throughout for trainer and co-owner Joe Hundertpfund. Hot Roddy notched his 11th lifetime win in just 13 starts.

Bags of Money ($4.20, Ben Stafford Jr.) also swept his eliminations with a 1:55.3 victory in the final division on the program. The Roddy’s Bags Again colt was a wire-to-wire winner over Artistic Director for his sixth win of the season for trainer Ben Stafford.

The top eight point earners will return for the $100,000 final on July 25.

Meanwhile, in the $19,000 overnight feature, Visible Gold ($3.20) registered one of four driving wins for Corey Callahan with a 1:50.3 clocking in the Open Pace over Dancin Yankee and Fissato. Trained by co-owner Ron Burke for partners Weaver Bruscemi and Rtc Stables, Visible Gold’s win was his 12th of the season and the fastest at Harrington this year.

Ross Wolfenden, George Dennis and Allan Davis each had two wins.
