Goo For Broke avoids breaker, springs 13-1 upset in Meadows co-feature

Washington, PA — Pushed wide by a breaking horse through the final turn, Goo For Broke retained his composure, steadily made up the lost ground and pulled off a 13-1 upset in Wednesday’s (July 26) co-feature at Hollywood Casino at The Meadows, a $10,900 Filly & Mare Conditioned Trot.

Goo For Broke was following the first-over Hot Stuff Niki when that rival suddenly jumped it off. The 3-year-old daughter of Googoo Gaagaa remained calm for Drew Monti and set her sights on the leader, Bella Ciao. Goo For Broke prevailed in a career-best 1:57, half-length better than the rallying TSM Emilia T, while Bella Ciao saved show.

Capturing Wednesday’s other $10,900 co-features were Cool Cute Cookie and Andover Jess.

Ronnie Wrenn, Jr. and Monti each collected three wins on the 12-race card.

Live racing at The Meadows continues Thursday (July 27) when the program features a pair of carryovers: $1,914.60 in the Early Pentafecta (race 4), $936.13 in the Pick-5 (race 8). First post is 12:45 p.m.
