Piloting Qing Qong Bluechip, a 3-year-old daughter of Roll With Joe, Westbrook sat patiently in the two-hole behind leader Vegas High Roller (David Dziengiel) through tepid early fractions. Heading to the three-quarter, pole Qing Qong Bluechip pulled and exploded by to score a 6-3/4 length victory in 1:59, capped by a :58 back half. It was her third victory this season for owner Robert Lassiter of Vermont.

Jericho Willie, owned by Matamoras, Pa., resident Larry Stalbaum, posted the second fastest mile of the day. The 3-year-old gelded son of Rock N Roll Heaven broke maiden in the nightcap as Joseph Chindano Jr. steered him to a 1:59.3 victory. The Orange County, N.Y., resident sent Jericho Willie right to the front and parked out Jim Taggart Jr. and Johnny Chimpo before powering through fractions of :29, 58.4 and 1:29. Chindano opened up off the final turn to a 3-3/4 length win in 1:59.3. Mike Kimmelman and Jones closed for second while Johnny Chimpo held on for third.

A large crowd turned out at Goshen Historic Track, cheering on both human and equine athletes. Three more days of racing are left at Goshen Historic Track, highlighted by the Hall of Fame Trot on Sunday (July 7). Three of the six new Hall of Fame inductees will be driving, as well as five previous entrants. Some powerful trotters will square off in the one-mile Mr. and Mrs. Eldridge T. Gerry Invitational. First race post each day is 1 p.m.
