Governor’s Day draw set for Monday

Harrington, DE — The draw for the first-ever night racing program during the Delaware State Fair, on Governor’s Day (July 26), will be held on Monday (July 23).

The stakes-packed program will include four $100,000 final events for Delaware Standardbred Breeders Fund 3-year-olds as well as staple races for older horses such as the Governor’s Cup (pacers), Legislator’s Cup (mares), and Charles Murphy Memorial (trotters).

The Honorable Governor Jack Markell will be on hand to award the Governor’s Cup to the winning connections.

There will also be DSBF consolation events among the races on the undercard.

A special 7 p.m. post time is scheduled.

Horsemen are reminded to enter their horses prior to the entry box’s closure at 10 a.m. on Monday (July 23). The race office will open Monday morning at 8:30 a.m. and can be reached by calling 302.398.5970.
