Grammy award winner writes Roosevelt Raceway song

Trade Martin, who won a Grammy for his song Peace To The World, has written a new song about harness racing, featuring Roosevelt Raceway. The song can be listened to at www.rrtrotting.com.

The song was written for the Roosevelt Raceway documentary that is currently in the production stage. It is being produced by Trade Martin, Roosevelt Raceway book co-authors, Freddie Hudson and Billy Haughton, along with Yonkers Raceway track photographer Mike Lizzi.

The documentary’s trailer/preview will be released shortly and an announcement will be forthcoming. The goal of the documentary is to have it aired on the Public Broadcasting Service.

The Roosevelt Raceway documentary will tell the history of the racetrack from its beginning until its closure. It tells the story of George Morton Levy who masterminded the creation of the modern day sport of harness racing.

Trade Martin, along with his Grammy winning song, has produced many movie scores, including Hail To The Chief, Made For Each Otherand BB King’s Stormy Monday Blues. He has also been nominated for multiple Clio awards, including TWA’s Up Up And Away and Prudential’s Piece of the Rock.

He has been associated with music legends Carole King, Bobby Darin, Cher, Carol Bayer-Sager, Steven Stills, Joan Baez, Bert Bacharach and many others.

Trade has been involved with harness racing for more than 40 years and is also working on a new song and commercial for the Standardbred Retirement Foundation.
