Grand Circuit Report: Week of Nov. 22, 2009

This Week: The 2009 season has drawn to a close. The 2010 Grand Circuit schedule will be announced in January.

Last time: Tim Tetrick won a pair of stakes during the Grand Circuit’s final stop of the 2009 season last Friday night (Nov. 20) at Maywood Park.

Tetrick found himself in victory lane behind OK Commander in the $130,000 Abe Lincoln for 2-year-old colt pacers and Yellow Diamond in the $100,000 Cinderella for 3-year-old filly pacers.

Also at Maywood, the $225,000 Windy City Pace for 3-year-old colts went to In Over My Head for driver Dale Hiteman, while the $90,000 Galt for 3-year-old colt trotters was captured by Southern Rocketop and Dave Magee.

Grand Circuit Driving Standings: Jim Morrill, Jr. finished in first place in the 2009 Grand Circuit driving standings with 31 wins. Tim Tetrick ended up in second place with 29 victories. Brian Sears ranked third with 26 wins. Ron Pierce finished in fourth place with 23 victories. David Miller was in fifth place with 20 wins. Dave Palone ranked sixth with 18 victories. John Campbell ended up seventh with 15 triumphs. George Brennan and Mike Lachance were tied for eighth place with 11 wins each. Daniel Dube rounded out the top ten with nine triumphs.
