Grand Circuit Report: Week of November 14, 2010

This Week: Maywood Park Grand Circuit, Maywood Park, Melrose Park, Illinois

Schedule of events: The Grand Circuit at Maywood features four stakes on the Friday (Nov. 19) card. On tap will be the $250,000 (est.) Windy City Pace for 3-year-old colts, the $130,000 Abe Lincoln for 2-year-old colt pacers, the $100,000 Cinderella for 3-year-old filly pacers and the $100,000 Galt Memorial for 3-year-old colt trotters.

Last time: Tim Tetrick won three of the six American-National races this past Saturday (Nov. 13) at Balmoral Park. He piloted One More Laugh to the winner’s circle in the $245,000 3-year-old colt pace, Mystic Desire in the $127,000 2-year-old colt pace final and Buck I St Pat in the $124,000 event for older trotters.

The other three American-National winners were Anndrovette and David Miller in the $191,000 3-year-old filly pace; Bettor Sweet and John Campbell in the $156,000 event for older pacers; and Pardon and Dave Magee in the $95,000 2-year-old filly pace final.

Grand Circuit Driving Standings: Tim Tetrick holds a commanding lead in the Grand Circuit driving standings with 32 victories in 2010. John Campbell is in second place with 22 winners. David Miller, Ron Pierce and Brian Sears share third place, each with 19 triumphs. Jim Morrill, Jr. is in sixth place with 18 winners. Yannick Gingras holds down seventh place with 14 victories. Dave Palone is in eighth place with 13 triumphs. George Brennan is ninth with ten victories. Daniel Dube rounds out the top 10 with eight winners in 2010.

Looking ahead: This is the final stop in 2010 for the Grand Circuit. The 2011 schedule will be released in January.
