Case stomped on the accelerator with K D Overdrive (1:57.3-$33.80), conjuring up the winning strategy to deliver the 47th career victory for the 11-year-old Maritime-bred. Grabbing overland cover up the backstretch off a stern :56.4 midway clocking, Case charged home through diminishing fractions, lighting the board at 15-1 odds, while keying a generous $450.60 exacta and an astronomical $2,603.20 trifecta return.

Conquest number two came with an air of familiarity as Case secured the second win from the last three starts with Western Stepp (1:57.1-$11.20), one of his regular mounts from the James Dunn stable. Scoring from the rail, Case coasted in gate-to-wire fashion, powering home through a :57.3 back-half after waltzing to the half in :59.3. The win marked the 61st career victory for the 11-year-old Maine-bred daughter of Western Maverick.

The James Dunn roster also provided Case with his next win opportunity as Cruzin The Night (1:56.2-$3.80) joined her stablemate in a game gate-to-wire win featuring a back-half clocking of 57.4. The win was the first from 17 seasonal starts but the 20th career victory for the 7-year-old daughter of Yankee Cruiser.

Big Bang Hanover (1:59.2-$4.00) capped Case’s grand slam performance as the veteran 13-year-old son of Donato Hanover glided on the engine to secure the 23rd victory of his career. The Ken Lantz trainee thrived as Case made his second consecutive appearance at the helm, taking full advantage of vastly improved post position while building upon a solid runner-up placing in last.

In other Bangor news, driver Andy Harrington and trainer Marc Tardif claimed convincing wins in both divisions of Maine Sire Stakes action on Wednesday.

And finally, on a day when Maine-breds won six of the 13 races on the program, Sara Tancredi (1:58.2-$4.00) sparkled as the 7-year-old daughter of Cheyenne Hollywood won her third consecutive race with driver Michael Cushing guiding the Christine Holt trainee down Victory Lane.

Brothers Drew and Heath Campbell both joined the multiple win parade on Wednesday, scoring two tallies each, while Valerie Grondin, Tardif and Dunn had two conditioning scores.

Maine Sire Stakes action returns to Bangor Raceway on Sunday (July 14) as the 2- and 3-year-old trotting divisions take center stage.
