GSY weekend recap from the Meadowlands

East Rutherford, NJ — With only two GSY races scheduled for this past Friday night (June 17), another familiar theme  has happened with these weekly events — both times the post time favorite didn’t win.

In the first race, the old speedy veteran Dream Out Loud N (Tony Beltrami) left hard from his outside post in :26.2 and was able to stave off all challengers en route to a 2-1/4 length victory. The mile was timed in 1:53.2. The 15-year-old is owned by Beltrami and is trained by Edwin Quevedo.

The fourth race on the card featured 10 more GSY drivers and when the dust settled, it was longshot Chief Of Staff (David Yarock) who rode the pylons and ended up winning by 6-3/4 lengths in 1:53.2. The longshot paid a handsome $49.60 for a $2 win bet. The 5-year-old gelding is owned by Clint Crellin and is trained by Shawn Simons.

The GSY series will be featuring a Pro-Am this Friday night at the Big M and then will go on break until September. These races continue to be well supported by the betting public and help fill the Big M cards.
