East Rutherford, NJ — The final Future Wager on the 94th edition of the Hambletonian at The Meadowlands opened its fourth and final pool Thursday (Aug. 1) at 11 a.m.

The pool will remain open until Saturday (Aug. 3) at post time of the first elimination of the Hambletonian scheduled for race eight with a post time of 2:55 p.m. (EDT).

A winning ticket pays the closing odds in the pool before the first elimination of the Hambletonian.

This is the final of four pools opened in advance of the Hambletonian.

Of the 101 trotting colts eligible for the $1 million Hambletonian, just 16 entered to race for $1 million.

The Marcus Melander trained quartet of trotters — Greenshoe, Green Manalishi S, Gimpanzee and Gerry — have earned a combined $1.9 million to date and it’s no surprise that Greenshoe is tabbed the Future Wager favorite at 2-1.

The first Future Wager poll closed with Indiana-sired Swandre The Giant favored at 2-1, but the Ron Burke trained Hambo hopeful is now 12-1.

The second Future Wager Pool closed with a drastic shift to the lightly-raced Greenshoe, whose two winning efforts in New Jersey Sire Stake events were nothing short of dominant. The colt offered 3-5 odds at closing time. Greenshoe remained the favorite in Pool 3 closing at 8-5.

Wagering will be available at racetrack and online sites throughout North America and internationally.

Real-time odds, pool data and updates on field participants for the 2019 Hambletonian Wagers and current odds will be shown on various simulcast shows including at the Meadowlands Racetrack.

The 14 horses assigned odds in the pool are listed in alphabetical order on the attached program page. The mutuel field, No. 15, will consist of Reign Of Honor and Summit In Sight.

The minimum future wager is $1 and all future wagers are win only. The winner of each pool will be determined by the official first-place finisher in the 2019 Hambletonian final heat.

The Hambletonian Future Wager will be set-up in the tote system as one separate event.
