Handicapping contest at Western Fair

by Greg Blanchard, Assistant Raceway Manager, Western Fair Raceway

London, ON — Not only will Saturday night’s (Oct. 23) card at Western Fair Raceway be the richest in the London, Ontario track’s history, it will also be one of the busiest with several special features added to complement the eight C$100,000 Ontario Sires Stakes Championship races on track.

A handicapping contest is now underway on the Western Fair Facebook page with the winners receiving the Somebeachsomewhere coffee table photo book. The contest may be played through this link.

Joining track announcer Greg Blanchard for interviews with the participants is Dawn Lupul who will also serve as guest host for the evening’s broadcast. More than C$850,000 in purses will be distributed Saturday night as the card also features two $15,000 eliminations for the rich Forest City Pace the following week and three first leg divisions of the Middlesex County Trotting series.

Fans are reminded that one of Western Fair’s most popular horses in recent years, the iron tough Bridge Street, will be on hand from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. and complimentary photos with the horse will be available.

Free program pages and live video coverage of the races, which will also be carried by HPI, are available at www.westernfair.com.
