Vernon, NY — The Harness Horse Association of Central New York scholarship committee is now taking applications for the 2014-2015 scholarships.

Applications are available at the Association office or call 315.829.3872 to receive an application. The applications must be received by the HHA of CNY Scholarship Fund by July 1.

Three scholarships may be awarded in the amounts of $5,000, $2,500 and $1,500 and are exclusively for current members of the HHA of CNY and their immediate families (spouses and children) as well as the youngsters who have legal guardians that are members. Grandparents do not qualify.

The intent of the scholarships is specifically for students graduating from accredited High School programs that are students in a two or four year college program. Graduate students are not eligible.

HHA of CNY golf tournament set for July 8

We are pleased to sponsor the “Horsemen’s Golf Tournament” on Tuesday (July 8) at the Oneida Community Golf Club, 1017 Golf Course Lane, Oneida, N.Y.

The tournament will have a 10 a.m. shotgun start, four-man scramble, 18 holes with a cart. Fees and prizes will be paid for by this Association. There must be at least one horseman per foursome.

There is a 25 team limit, sign up by Saturday (June 28) at the Association office.

There will be hot dogs and hamburgers at the turn and a prime rib buffet following the tournament at the Nothin’ Fancy Café.

Skins are the responsibility of the foursome.
