Freehold, NJ — CNN Correspondent Richard Roth is a foreign affairs journalist by day, reporting from far flung war zones and the United Nations, but he’s always wanted to call a horse race. He’s a former Standardbred owner and a long-time fan. On March 31, Roth did just that, calling a race at Freehold Raceway with the assistance of regular announcer Ken Warkentin.
