Harness racing stars come out for USTA Speakers Forum

Columbus, OH — All fans of harness racing and the Little Brown Jug are invited Wednesday and Thursday, Sept. 19 and 20, to a free speakers series hosted by the United States Trotting Association, at the Delaware County Fairgrounds in Delaware, Ohio.
Racing’s greatest drivers and trainers, as well as expert handicappers and world-renowned veterinarians from The Ohio State University, will answer questions and share their insights into horses, harness racing and the Little Brown Jug at the event, which runs from 8:00-11:00 a.m. each morning in the Jugette Barn on the backstretch.
Wednesday Speakers (Jugette Day)
8:00-8:45 a.m. — Dr. Rustin Moore and Dr. Yvonne Elce, The Ohio State University
9:00-9:45 a.m. — Tim Tetrick, on track to break the all-time single season driving win record
10:00-10:45 a.m. — George Teague, Jr., trainer of 2004 Horse of the Year Rainbow Blue and 2007 Jug hopeful Southwind Lynx
Thursday Speakers (Little Brown Jug Day)
8:00-8:45 a.m. — Handicapping the Jug Day card with Sam McKee and Dave Bianconi
9:00-9:45 a.m. — Trainer Steve Elliott and Hall of Fame driver Ron Pierce (three-time Jug winner), winners of the 2007 Hambletonian with Donato Hanover
10:00-10:45 a.m. — John Campbell, Hall of Fame driving legend and three-time Jug winner
All those in attendance will be eligible to win prizes such as:
- autographed photographs of the participants with their greatest horses
- T-shirts from Hoof Beats magazine and autographed issues
- a pair of shoes from 2005 Hambletonian winner Vivid Photo.
Free coffee and donuts will also be served.
