Harrah’s Chester Super Stakes Sunday reminder

from Harrah’s Chester race office

Chester, PA — Trainers should be advised that entries for Super Stakes Sunday (August 22) at Harrah’s Chester close on Wednesday, August 18, at 9 a.m.

As in years past, entries for the Battle of the Brandywine, the Colonial Trot, and the Valley Forge will be determined by 2010 purse earnings. The finals will be limited to the eight highest money earners in 2010 of those that enter as of the published declaration date and time. The next eight highest money earners in 2010 that enter will be eligible to Consolation I, followed by the next highest eight money earners in 2010 for Consolation II. USTA records (including currency conversions) shall be accepted as being official earnings at the time of declaration.

There will be two also eligibles drawn for the Finals and the Consolations. Those horses designated as also eligibles in the Finals and Consolation I will be drawn into the next level down, but may be eligible to be drawn in at scratch time. Horses may not opt out of their proper races to enter the next level down. If a consolation race does not fill or if a horse entered fails to be one of the top 24 money earners in 2010, both sustaining payments will be refunded, provided, however, the horse meets the current qualifying standards for the race meeting.

Five Open events are also scheduled for the Super Stakes Sunday undercard, with each carrying a $50,000 purse. These events will be for open pacers, open trotters, 4-year-old pacers, Pennsylvania-sired 3-year-old pacers, and Pennsylvania-sired 3-year-old trotters.

People with horses entered in races on Super Stakes Sunday are advised to contact the racing office regarding reservations in the Riverview Terrace as soon as possible.

Post time for Super Stakes Sunday is 2 p.m.
