Harrah’s Philadelphia announces changes to fall schedule

Chester, PA — With the Spring-Summer meet at Harrah’s Philadelphia approaching its Sept. 22 closing day, horsemen and horseplayers alike should make note of a few changes to the racing schedule for the 2013 Fall meet.
- Opening Day has been moved forward a day to Wednesday (Oct. 9), with first post at 2:30 p.m.
- October will maintain a Wednesday-Thursday-Friday-Sunday racing schedule, except for Sunday (Oct. 20) and Wednesday (Oct. 30), which will be dark days. Wednesday first post will be 2:30 p.m., while first post on the other days remains 12:40 p.m.
- November begins with a pair of 2:30 p.m. cards on Friday (Nov. 1) and Saturday (Nov. 2) for Breeders’ Cup weekend, and then settles into a Thursday-Friday-Sunday schedule. In place of Thursday (Nov. 28-Thanksgiving), racing will take place on Wednesday (Nov. 27) with a 2:30 p.m. first post. Post time for Friday (Nov. 29) — the day following Thanksgiving — has been moved to the standard 12:40 p.m. start.
- December sees a shift to a Sunday-Monday-Tuesday racing schedule, with first post at 12:40 p.m. through Closing Day on Tuesday (Dec. 17).
