Manalapan, NJ — Free health screenings for horsemen, sponsored by the Standardbred Breeders & Owners Association of New Jersey, are underway at the farms and training centers of New Jersey.
The next stop for the CentraState Medical Center’s Health Awareness Mobile Unit will be on Monday, September 19 at Gaitway Farms from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The tests available at Gaitway include blood pressure [BP], cholesterol [CH], glucose [G], visual acuity [VA] and body mass index [BMI]. Additionally, flu shots will be dispensed.
The SBOANJ screenings are under the supervision of Dr. Chris Samaha of the Backstretch Community Assistance Program [BCAP].
The dates, locations, types of screenings and times:
· Sept. 12, 2011 Tullo’s Farm (BP, CH & BMI) – 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.
· Sept. 19, 2011: Gaitway (BP, CH, G, V, BMI & F) – 11:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m.
· Sept. 26, 2011: White Birch (BP, CH, G, V, BMI & F) – 11:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m.
· Oct. 3, 2011: Winners International (BP, CH, BMI & F) – 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.
· Oct. 17, 2011: Crystal Brook (BP, CH, BMI & F) – 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.
· Oct. 24, 2011: Magical Acres (BP, CH, BMI & F) – 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.
· Oct. 27, 2011: Freehold Raceway Paddock (BP, CH, BMI & F) – 12 noon-3 p.m.
· Nov. 14, 2011: Showplace (BP, CH, G, V, BMI & F) – 11:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m.
