Hellabalou zipped to the lead from post six, and once Ronnie Wrenn, Jr. gave him a 29 second-quarter breather, the race for first was effectively over. The winner of the 2021 Delvin Miller Adios Pace for the Orchids, Hellabalou scored in 1:50.1 over a “good” surface, two lengths better than the pocket-sitting Patrikthepiranha A. Sandbetweenmytoes completed the ticket.

Ron Burke trains the winner, a 5-year-old Sweet Lou-Magestic Blue Chip gelding who now boasts a career bankroll of $531,654, for Burke Racing Stable, Eric Good, Weaver Bruscemi LLC and Larry Karr.

Wrenn and Burke teamed for three wins while Dave Palone also fashioned a triple on the 13-race card, which is believed to be the first featuring victories by two former Adios champions. Dorsoduro Hanover, winner of the 2018 Pace for the Orchids, captured a Conditioned Pace on Friday’s program.

Live racing at The Meadows resumes Wednesday (Jan. 11) when the program features a $986.13 carryover in the Pick-5. First post is 12:45 p.m.
