Help the Harness Racing Museum and win a wager on Kentucky Derby

from the Harness Racing Museum and Hall of Fame

Goshen, NY — Plainridge Racecourse in Plainville, Mass., has again included The Harness Racing Museum & Hall of Fame in their $10,000 Kentucky Derby charity giveaway drawing.

On Tuesday (May 1), five lucky winners will receive vouchers (first place-$4,000, second place-$1,500, third place-$500, fourth place-$200, and fifth place-$100) to wager on the Derby, on Saturday (May 5). Winners do not have to be present (Plainridge will assign a representative to place wagers for those not at the track in person).

Every $1 ticket sold by the Museum is $1 for the Museum’s education programs. We will also receive a percentage of the tickets sold at Plainridge. Therefore, the more tickets sold, the more money there will be to bet on the Derby.

In 2011 Museum members and friends bought enough tickets to contribute over $4,000 for the Museum’s educational programming. Museum members Sonya Hulbert, Steven Lewis and Majestic View Farms were major winners last year.

Call 845.294.6330 or e-mail development@harnessmuseum.com and ask Joanne Young for information on how to participate in this great Museum fundraiser. Orders can be taken over the phone or checks marked “Plainridge” can be mailed to The Harness Racing Museum, 240 Main Street, Goshen, NY 10924. Be sure to include your phone number and e-mail address if you have one. Hurry, time is short and all entries must be received at the Museum by April 18.

The Harness Racing Museum & Hall of Fame is located at 240 Main Street in Goshen, New York, and is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. (last tour 4 p.m.). Thanks to USTA support, the Museum is currently offering free admission for walk-in visitors and $4.00/person for group docent-guided tours.
