HHA of CNY announces Camerino Scholarship Awards

Vernon, NY – The Harness Horse Association of Central New York is proud to announce the 2021-2022 Joseph P. Camerino Memorial Scholarship winners.

A $5,000 scholarship is awarded to Emma Blazer, daughter of  Frances Blazer and Michael Collins of Clinton, NY. Emma is a graduate of Notre Dame Jr. Sr. High School in Utica, NY, and non-matriculated classes at Mohawk Valley Community College during her junior  and senior years. Emma will be attending the University at Albany and her intended course of study is Human Biology.

Emma has served as a youth delegate for USTA, Notre Dame Campus Ministry, volunteers at Purple Haze SRP and plays ice hockey.

Katie Dewhurst of Clinton, NY is awarded $ 2,500. Katie is the daughter of Regina and David Dewhurst and a graduate of Clinton Central School and non-matriculated classes at Mohawk Valley Community. Katie will be attending Northeastern University in Boston and her intended course of study is Chemical/Biomedical Engineering.

Katie is a member of the National Honor Society, Science Olympiad, founder of the Homework Club and played Varsity soccer and track.

Scholarship awards are based on financial need, community service, grades, and a short essay.
