HHI annual meeting set for Feb. 19-22

Burlington, NJ — The annual meeting of Harness Horsemen International is set for Monday (Feb. 19) through Thursday (Feb. 22) at the Embassy Suites Hotel in Deerfield Beach, Fla.

The meetings begin with an HHI board meeting on Feb. 19 at 4:30 p.m., followed by a welcome reception from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the Beach Terrace Ocean Restaurant & Patio.

On Tuesday (Feb. 20), the general session begins at 9 a.m., with an opening message from HHI President Ron Battoni, followed by trainer-driver Anthony MacDonald, who will discuss fractional ownership, and a discussion by Emily Stearns of the American Horse Council. HHI minutes, business, and association reports will follow the morning session.

The agenda for Wednesday (Feb. 21) includes a presentation from Mike Tanner, Executive Vice President of the USTA, followed by HHI committee reports which include insurance, legal, convention, foundation, and association reports. The following awards luncheon includes presentation of the HHI’s Person of the Year Award (Kim Hankins); HHI’s Appreciation Award (Andrew Markano); and HHI’s Clyde Hirt Media Award (Matthew Sparacino).

On Thursday (Feb. 22), a 9 a.m. general session begins the day, followed by association reports and any unfinished business, with HHI elections following before the conclusion of all meetings.

HHI’s Board of Directors includes Ron Battoni, President; Kim Hankins, First VP; Tony Somone, Second VP; Sal DiMario, Secretary; Andy Markano, Treasurer; At-Large Directors Cathy Dessert, Aaron Hall, Mike Harant, and Paul London; and Emeritus Members Mike Izzo and Tom Luchento.
